"For sale: baby shoes, never worn."
On October 17th 2000, Amy and Hayden got news they never thought they would get. They had been trying for three years to have a baby. After multiple doctors appointments they had accepted the fact that Amy was unable to conceive. Something must have changed, because Amy was crying as she showed her husband the positive pregnancy test. Love and support flowed throughout the neighborhood. Flowers, food, money, clothes came pouring in. Months went by and Amy's belly grew bigger. On June 5th, things started feeling different. Baby Kaden didn't seem to kick as much, didn't seem to move much at all. June 9th was the first day of horror. After a doctors appointment the once so happy couple was on their knees crying with the knowledge of the miscarriage. Months go by as the baby clothes, shoes, and items sit locked up in a room. Until one day they decide the don't want it there anymore as a constant reminder of the nightmare.
With a shaky hand Hayden picks up a Sharpie and writes one sentence that was going to let them start over again. "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."
I had to highlight this to read this. This is a really fascinating story. Miscarriages are no fun.
